Hope someone can help
I have received a bill from SSE even though they do not provide either my gas or electricity. I have tried to ring them - spoke to a woman who put me on hold whilst she investigated further - then the line when dead! When I tried to ring back and entered the details on the ‘bill’ the line went dead again! Who do I contact to make a complaint about this company? Thanks in anticipation (mostly of a reduction in my blood pressure)

I am an SSE customer. On my latest gas bill there are these two contacts:
sss.co.uk
Phone: 0345 026 2658 (Mon-Fri 8.00 a.m.-8.00 p.m. Sat. 8.00 a.m.-6.00 p.m.)
ofgem is the regulater but you'll need to show that youv'e followed there complaints process.
Someone might of switched you without your knowledge so check with your current supplyer that your still with them.
If your still with your old applier then a suggest you send it back "return to sender" rather than just bin it.
Was it in your name?
Correction: sse.co.uk
This is their "contact us " page. Did you use that?

Which supplyer are you with? Some smaller energy companys have stopped trading in recent months and accounts are been transferred to other supplyers
SSE has taken over Spark Energy.
Were you with Spark previously?
Effortless Energy also collapsed recently and there customers were transferred to other supplyers . OFGEM decides where to transfer, not sure if some or all these went to SSE.
Defo check with whoever you think is your true supplyer
How did SSE get the details of how much gas/electricity you had used, and thereby knew how much to charge you?
I once tried to phone SSE, and I had the same problem as you did, Ric.ror. When I, eventually, managed to speak to someone, I was told that there is a greater chance of getting through to someone if the caller rings outside office hours. It seemed to work!
