I had a packet of these last over from last Christmas so I opened them to see what they were like..
A bit of salt sprinkled over and I’ve eaten the lot, good job I have a newly bought pack to have with the sprouts this year.

I dont know how that happened !
If you can get them, the frozen ones are the bees knees. They are peeled but still raw. lovely baked, fried, simmered in a sauce or stirred into stuffing, added to roasted veg and so on.

I’ve never seen frozen ones but will look out for them.
These had no holes in them, yuk, didn’t know about weevils!
I do love chestnuts though and have had no ill effects from them ;)

I love a hot roasted chestnut. When I was working in the West End, I used to buy bags of them from the street vendors. Don't see them anymore.

Choux, that’s where I got mine from a couple of weeks ago. Maybe they’ll get some more in..
I shall look again on Monday, Vagus. I live in the country and often notice that the major shops don't seem to deliver a full range here.
