For cross breeds use an estimate between the two breeds.

My fella has gained just looking at his medical chart for him

He was 2.3kg when I got him . A scrawny wee thing
The vet tells me whenever I take him. He always has to be weighed and they le me know if his weight is ok. It always is!
weigh yourself then pick up the dog and weigh yourself again holding the dog , then work out the diffrence

Sorry if I confused but I meant what weight should he be
No set weight for any dog - you should be able to just feel their ribs and most should have a slight waist going in a bit as you look at them from on top. With dogs like whippets and greyhounds you should just see the last three ribs as they carry a lot less spare flesh than other breeds.
That;s why I posted the link above.
Sound reply from Lankeela, you'll know if he's too heavy.
What Mamya posted then. I rely on the vet for my cats - one of them is always verging on being a tubster.
Not sure which breed he is but a Shih Tzu weighs between nine and sixteen pounds ideally.
