Hi Folk,

One of the kitchen surfaces joints has started to rise, obviously water has managed to get into it, is there anything that can be done to stop it getting worse and requiring replacement?

Any kitchen fitters out there who can help?

Thanks for any assistance

Because you posted twice, I removed your first post and have left this one for you.
How high has it risen, to be honest once water has got in and expanded it there's not a lot you can do.

So far enough to feel when wiping hand across but I appreciate it will get worse over time, just want to delay replacements. Ta
You could seal the joint against water but two things make this a particular challenge. The best sealing agents are likely to result in a stark colour contrast at the joint and the best water repellents to impregnate the chipboard under the plastic coating are incompatible with a kitchen due to the risk of contamination with food/culinary items. Some sealants present both hazards.
Ok barmy, you can buy T shaped aluminium pieces that would fill gap and fit with sealant to prevent any further water ingress. I will try and find a link.
If it's anywhere near a hob or oven, these look good, and cover a multitude of imperfections...

Has the bracket become loose or has it swollen through damp ?
If, as the OP suggests, it's the latter, replacement may be called for. (Stone doesn't tend to swell.)
