erthe British pay for the French police to push the dinghies in the direction of Dover?

excuse my ..... sozza = perdonne mes doutes
[ heavily into Fronglay today]
How about we sign an "agreement" that facilitates sending the ones that did ... back? (◡‿◡)
All sorted then.

//Speaking inside the Foreign Office, the home secretary said the €31.4 million (£28.2m) agreement would also see more invested in technologies and surveillance to curb the number of crossings being made.//

I seem to recall we shelled out a huge amount to reinforce the port of Calais. I wonder how the expense of this "agreement" was split.
This was ‘sorted’ about 3 years ago.
We should not have shelled out to reinforce the port of Calais; we should just have shelled the port of Calais.
Jesus. Frighting that there are people who’s answer is to virtually resort to war with a country we trade with and a lot of us go on holiday to (went on holiday to?).
Well, I don't want to go to war with France. But it is true that we paid a huge amount to the French to stop this ages ago and we know what happened. Footage of French ships escorting dinghies to British waters, remember? The French people are one thing - French politicians and current situation with Macron is another.
I missed the 'Send them back to France' bullet point somehow. Anyway, we should soon be able to send illegal immigrants (word is 'illegal') back to where they came from.

We're already able to do that. We simply choose not to. And while attitudes like this prevail:

"Bella Sankey, from Detention Action, added: "No amount of massaging the numbers masks (the home secretary's) refusal to take the sensible step of creating a safe and legal route to the UK from northern France, thereby preventing crossings and child deaths."

We never will.
It will cost the UK even more next year.
Any excuse to get your anti-Brexit dig in.
it will cost more next year
pourquoi - goo-leigh ?
according to you we will be shelling out for years to come, shame we joined the wretched EEC then in the first place, good for Britain, no it hasn't been

If 'we' don't want dead children bobbing up on beaches all that needs to be done is educate their moronic parents and disband dodgy looking welcome parties who think it's okay to arrive by the back door.
