I've a flight booked to Spain which is scheduled to arrive at 10 AM on Monday 14th December. The authorities there have introduced a regulation which requires travelers to have evidence of a negative result from a PCR test taken within 72 of arrival. If I could arrange the test for Friday afternoon it would fit into that time frame but would the lab's be open over the weekend to process it?

you ask the service provider and not us
you cd make it condition of the contract - reply before such and such - but they then may not accept the offer

the obvious answer is - some do and some dont so ask

If I was paying good money for a test, I'd want the results back within a couple of hours. I would assume, as they are quite expensive, that they would be the rapid test.
// I would assume, as they are quite expensive, //
and so they wd give a service

well no - this is the health sector ( yes - or no not health service ) and to see what they do - look at America. so do NOT assume narfin

Just seen on fb, there's a testing Centre, Bristol. Around £100.00. Not sure where you live?
I've just had my 4th Covid swab test done. The lady who sits next to me at Work had a test done Wednesday and got a positive result on Thursday. I've just been and had swab done myself and I daresay I'll get the result tomorrow.

I've got all the same symptoms that my two positive Covid colleagues have had.
Oh Nooo Lcg, I hope it's not
That's worrying I thought you'd already had it (
Sandy, go on Gov.uk and find your local drive through test site. Just say yes to all the symptoms ... don't pay for a test.

I went on Gov.uk this morning and 30 minutes later I got a test done.
Yes - find a local testing site on gov.uk and make sure you tell them you have symptoms: cough, loss of sense of smell etc
No, Bednobs, my previous tests were negative.

My colleague who just tested positive was sat at my desk on Tuesday adjusting my headphone settings for me, then she got ill the next day. I've now got the exact same symptoms. She's 10 years younger than me and she's feeling quite rough with it.
Hope you feel better soon, LCG.
The PCR test for Spain/travel is not the same as getting a free test on NHS. You have to get a certificate and it has to have your passport details on it, presumably that's why you pay (an exorbitant amount).
I'm really not that bad, Patsy, it feels like a minor cold. If I hadn't come down with the exact same symptom profile as my colleague just days after she tested positive, I wouldn't have bothered getting tested. She's the only person I've had contact with who's had so much as a sniffle.
Aren’t the tests processed at one of 5 labs across the country? Not at the actual centres.

The labs work round the clock.
With varying degrees of efficiency no doubt

Patsy33,
I live in Belfast. There's an NHS testing centre in a local park about half a mile away from where I live. But for travel I'll need a document confirming that I haven't got the virus. There's a private hospital here does the test for £199 and Boots do it for £120.
The problem is I'd have to have it done on Friday afternoon and somehow get the result before Monday morning to meet the Spanish authorities requirements.
Don't the websites tell you how long it takes to get your results?
Question Author
Ubasses,
the site says, 'a rapid turn round'. No more.
Is this one any good, it says results guaranteed within your chosen time frame.

For some reason, I thought you lived in Devon!
Anyway, good luck with it all and hopefully, have a lovely holiday.:-)
