The fed attorney general has authorised fed investigation of state elections
because he says he can
it is a state right but not exclusively - Barr says he can butt in if he think it is OK
The president has ordered him to

yes the president has ordered a so called independent official to investigate into whether the president has lost an election

Barr has obeyed but his chief flunkey resigned to avoid doing so

https://int.nyt.com/data/documenttools/barr-memo-elections-fraud/9bf5cac375012c4c/full.pdf

and 'we' have until Jan 20th to sort it all out.

oh a question - what do ABers think of this man made mess ?

Question Author

will they all be settled by Dec 14th and what will happen if they arent
and
2) does trump think he can litigate his way back into the white house
I can't help but think of Mark Antony's comment on Julius Caesar (according to Shakespear with a slight modification by me):

"The silly things that men do live after them, the sensible are oft interred with their bones"
WE WILL WIN! AND KEEP FIGHTING UNTIL IT'S OVFEFE!

Or the AG will be impeached and the twitter addicted internet celebrity will be forcibly removed. It's all part of the Trump Performance that calls for popcorn and a comfy seat.

warning ABers - long legal document - suitable for reading on the jarn
Question Author
having been on the jarn quite a lot
I had a chance to look at the documents ( pleadings etc)

as Togo said - they are pretty turgid
full (many pages )of fine phrases about the constitution and the right to vote
and then very slim on why they are bringing the case ( ie no facts )

//having been on the jarn quite a lot

as Togo said - they are pretty turgid //

I read that quickly and it looked like Togo had said pretty turded.
Well you were on the jarn!!
Question Author

and o god it made me shift off the jarn

I just dont understand why they are bringing cases which have no substance.
// I just dont understand why they are bringing cases which have no substance. //

They're being paid to do it, all funded by thicko Trump supporters.

blimey the case has to be a dog if the lawyers do this

First, a mid-sized regional firm pulled out of the case, and Monday night the second group of lawyers withdrew, following a decision by Giuliani who had taken over Trump's election strategy in court.

usually happy to take fees and argue a loser

The penn supreme ct judge, emt is here

https://cases.justia.com/pennsylvania/supreme-court/2020-30-eap-2020.pdf?ts=1605645211

The plaintiff is a rep observer who says he isnt allowed to observe. The judge asks - "are there people observing" to the counsel representing the president and he says 'yes'
BUT the plaintiff says that he isnt allowed to do anything else.

and the judge said that is what observe means

Note the judge is asking the lawyers representing the president direct questions and that might be why they are running scared.

this affidavit
confuses michigan and minnesota

some lawyer commented: this sort of mistake will make a case crash and burn

another said
An affidavit filed by President Trump’s legal team intended to prove voter fraud in Michigan apparently used data taken from counties in Minnesota, the latest in a series of embarrassing missteps that have made Mr. Trump’s uphill legal fight even steeper

It read like turgid legal glug
I expect your brayne to turn to mush if you try to read it

this is in fact an appeal on Bookvar

https://www.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.pamd.127057/gov.uscourts.pamd.127057.202.0_1.pdf

from the judgement

In other words, Plaintiffs ask this Court to disenfranchise
almost seven million voters. This Court has been unable to find any case in which a plaintiff has sought such a drastic remedy in the contest of an election, in terms of the sheer volume of votes asked to be invalidated.

Judge Brann doesnt like it

as George III said - Another d-mn'd thick, square book! Always, scribble, scribble, scribble! Eh! Mr. Gibbon?
