I've been toiling this morning making Jaimie's Tomato Ketchup, I kept exactly to his recipe; there's an awful lot of ingredients which go into a small outcome (500gm) & it's quite a bit of work, but I have to say it is fantastic!
Has anyone else tried it?

God that’s a lot of ingredients! Lol
nope won't have anything to do with that greasy git since he statrted poking his nose into how much sugar there is in drinks
Yes, I've made it. It's nice but really not nice enough to be worth the effort.
Being about as far from a 'foodie' as it's possible to get, I know I would not enjoy the taste of any ketchup that doesn;t come out of a bottle, so I could never be bothered to do all this.

My attitude to cooking (which I am actually not too bad at) is the same as cleaning the bathroom (which I am also not too bad at!) - I will do it because it has to be done, but if i never had to do it again I would be seriously happy.
I don't use enough ketchup to go to that effort but I'm sure it tastes good.
Prefer my ketchup as it comes, in a bottle. Could never be bothered making it. Also agree with 16:09!

When it says, '1 bunch fresh basil , (30g), leaves picked, stalks chopped' that was an entire supermarket plant as bought in a pot! & there' a kilo of tomatoes in there, when it's rendered down - which takes some time it all is reduced to 2 small bottles, but omg, what a taste.
Doubters, do try.
Been a long time since I last used ketchup. Used to love it as a kid, but came to realise that the Full English didn't need anything on it so why cover it with sweet tomato sauce and make that the dominant flavour.
That sounds delicious but on the rare occasions when I want ketchup I'm happy to stick with Lidl's own brand - far superior to Heinz and all the other supermarket own brands and cheaper of course.
