When I retired back in the late 90s I was ,thank god, exempt from jury service. I spent my career trying to prosecute them and get them sent down.If I get summoned now I'll just tell them I'm senile or biased. Definitely not fit to sit in a court room in this day and age.

I can imagine NI isnt the best place to serve on a jury!

Tony, imagine if justice was based on the colour of a football shirt or supported team!!

Retro,u wudnt have to!

:-)))

Just heard on the News that Prince Charles
and the Horse Faced One will be the first Royals
to attend Germanies day of mourning.
Why? didn't Germany start it?

Oops, wrong thread, but same sentiment.
I´ve also done it twice, 1st time in 1980. The accused was accused of threatening a chippie with a knife for the cash register. We the jury gave if i remember right a unaninimous verdict, at the time it felt like " the 12 angry men" convicting him due to his appearance, and also due to his race. The 2nd occasion i didnt get to join a jury and just sat around for a week reading a book.

"convicting him due to his appearance, and also due to his race."

Oooooh! Now that wud be v controversial!!
Looking back I allowed myself to be intimidated by 11 narrow minded people, definitely shades of 12 angry men!!!
Question Author
I suspect that happens quite often!
