I have a set of these lovely scales and metric weights which I have had for years. I know that under the little tray that the weights go on, there is a little rubber plug type thing. There should be little beads or ball bearings somewhere under this tray. Apparently you can adjust these scales should they ever go slightly off. I cannot find my instructions, not surprising considering their age. I have looked on Google but no joy. Can anyone help me with this please? Thanks.

What's the problem? Will they not zero?

There is no Zero. These are vintage scales with separate weights which you put on a small tray on the right side. On the left side is the dish where you put your ingredients. For some reason, when empty they seem to be going down on the dish side, but before when empty they were completely level. I would put a picture if I knew how but if you Google Librasco scales there are lots of pictures.
You could try to find a small weight (eg a coin) which makes the trays level up when you put it on the ingredients tray. Then keep it there all the time. It might be better to sellotape it to the bottom of the tray to avoid it getting mixed in with stuff like flour. Not ideal, but might help.
Perhaps I got the trays mixed up; maybe you should put the weight on the weights' tray.

Thank you Atheist sounds like a good idea which I will try with a 5p under the weights tray.
Foxy; if there's only a coin's weight of inaccuracy, surely it doesn't really matter, unless you are weighing out drugs? :-)

Ha ha Atheist, I did laugh at that. The only coke in this house is fizzy stuff in a bottle
