Even legends should be aware, and gracefully step aside, and avoid this kind of thing -

Little Richard is clearly miming both his playing and his vocals.

Mamya - // You've chosen a poorly synched video of that 28 year old celebration. //

Apologies for the delay getting back on this -

You are absolutely correct, and I can see from your clip, as opposed to the badly edited (!) version that I posted, that Richard was indeed playing and singing live, and I withdraw my original view from my OP.

In my defence, that was the only version I happened across, and I think my view, based on what I believed I saw, was valid, but hey, we all make mistakes, that's why they put rubbers on the end of pencils.

Trevor - // He should probably stop growing his hair though, a snip wouldn’t go amiss. //

Richard wore flamboyant wigs at the end of his career - a showman to the last -

It's funny how a singer's voice can change within a few years. I saw Bryan Ferry about 15 years ago and his voice was as good as ever. Saw him a few years ago and he had lost it. I saw Elton last year and he was still as good as ever though
Nobody born yet that hasn't made a mistake Andy,I agree with you.
Has Elton had something done to he's voice. Asaw him live about 15 years ago and he was good but his voice was alot deeper and he had to change the notes quite alot. A heard him talking on the One Show recently and he's voice sounded good and quite posh inaway but didnt sound like him really and almost sounded like an automated voice call type of voice

I believe he did have surgery for nodules on his vocal chords some years ago, and obviously with age, his voice is bound to have changed.
One singer who in my opinion has still got a good voice at the age of 80 yrs old, is Tom Jones.
Well he took your advice, Andy - he died last May.
Thats what i was thinking,NJ.Has Andy not been reading any reports of pop legends deaths lately? What are Andys views on Jimi Hendrixs latest recordings,i wonder.

Who took what advice?
Little Richard.

Thanks mamya - although my view turned out to be incorrect, based on a dodgy edit, I don't recall offering it as 'advice'.
It was a light hearted remark, Andy. Almost a joke, if you like. You must remember jokes. Don't take on so! :-)

I remember jokes - can't recall ever laughing at one about someone dying though - but humour is an individual thing.

Perfectly reasonable response ...

Thanks for your adjudication.

Not requested, or relevant, but thanks anyway ...

Indeed it is, Andy, indeed it is! I'd better leave it there.
