29 anagram of men use
13 A very unusual word. A three-letter 'tease', verb + the usual 'one' + the usual 'vacuous', ie emptied.... The defintion is 'Crone'.

27 The three letters you have are wrong.
22. The definition is 'female seeking love', the male version is much more usual. You need a four letter word meaning'fit', be good for, and a five-letter word for 'clothing', with the first letter removed.

You also have wrong letters, or letters in the wrong place, in 7, 17 and 35 (oh, and your A in 22 is wrong too).

13a 3 letter synonym for tease + i + brunette "vacated" (lose its middle letters)
16a sturgeaon isn't Nicola!
17a no O in it ...you are showing 10 letters
4 letter word for (south american) emperor + usual 4 letter word for judge with n(knight) inside
21a metal wires are the ones needed for your TV on the roof
27a 8 letter synonym for memo with A (area) inside +3 letter synonym for some castles or other pieces on the board
PS What makes this one 'exciting'?
I hope my hint for 13 helps, I should have said your letters there are incorrect too.

Thanks, Roslyn and Neveracrossword, for the hints...I should have said this one is "challenging"...I'll be back!
Thanks, Matakari. I think it's very likely that you'll be back! This was definitely challenging, but worth it.

Going for the Unclueds as I work with the hint. ANSWERS to the following two should help me get there. Thanks for your help in
advance!

DOWN:

18 Gallery’s cancelling summit about European works (7): O????O?
6 calottes
I know you asked for 'answers', but those two are less tricky than others this week!

6 - a simple anagram
18 A very famous French gallery loses its first letter to form 'work', in a literary sense. The clue asks for the plural.
7 Singer, Roy, minus B

38 Has a slang/colloquial word for 'criticise', the name of a famous female UK artist and then an anagram of Tea. 'Broadcast' , verb is the definition.
