According to this article in the Mail online, NHS workers are to get a vaccine, while ministers introduce new laws to bypass EU approval regulations – What could possibly go wrong?

Friend's son is a Consultant Medical Microbiologist and is working on a vaccine. Has been doing so for at least 18 months and he certainly doesn't think there will one before 2022. Hope he is proved wrong, but can't argue with him. For those who always shout "Link" you can see his profile here (Dr Michael Lockhart)

All credibility went out of the window with the mention of 'Daily Mail'. Shame that!

That’s very impressive, working on a vaccine for 18 months on a virus first identified less than 12 months ago.
That's not what maggiebee said though,is it?

It makes sense to give the vaccine to NHS staff first - after all, they have the biggest exposure to the virus.

As to 18 months or 12 months, the latter was when it was first known that it had broken out in Wuhan. Also covids have been around for a long time and, after all, we are on version 19. One has to remember that SARs is a covid too and, also, folk around the world commonly get infected with human coronaviruses 229E, NL63, OC43, and HKU1.
Actually it makes more sense to give it to all Politician's first, including the House of Lords. They can easily be replaced if it goes wrong, medical staff not so much so.

It would also make them put their money where their mouth is.
