I had a minor hernia in my belly button that was sore. Left it alone and it cured itself.
Germolene has a mild analgesic in it and that may assist.

Dig further. You might find all sorts of things : lost change; plastic toys; enough cereal to fill a bowl; or enough fluff to fill the vac.
