How much could I expect in rent for an off-street parking space near a uni in Belfast.
I'm not blowing my own trumpet but any money made would be donated to charity.

if you google "rent my parking space" you will find loads of websites for people who want to rent out and also to use the service, This should help you to find out.
Surely you would need to be Authorised & Licecnced by the Local Authority.

Hans.
We’ve used these to park our car quite successfully

No you don't, Hans.
Thanks Barry and TCL for having informed me of the legal position.

However, there could be the matter of Insurance cover being necessary;-

Hans.
My friend lives very close to Birmingham University and the big hospital and rents out her drive to a doctor - she pays an extra £2.50 a year to cover the insurance, she owns her own home outright so doesn't need to consider a mortgage company and doesn't pay income tax as she is under the tax threshold. Win win for her and her husband - and the doctor :)
Sandy is N Ireland .
I don't know why Insurance should be a problem. Every car park I've ever parked in has a notice 'All cars parked at owners' risk'. Surely you are less liable to have a prang on someone's drive than in a public carpark.
APG, insurance for your own property - if the driver reverses in to your house when he meant to go forward, or the car catches fire on your drive. Or he falls over on your drive and breaks his wrist because he didn't see your child's bike in the dark (even council car parks are liable for personal injury if you trip in a pot hole in the dark)
Thanks Barry.
Lots of people do it in Belfast and the rest of Northern Ireland
^and barry's "what ifs" can easily happen. I know somebody who reversed into their own house and did a remarkable amount of damage!
ginge, I've seen plenty of that kind of thing in the local news over the years. :(
Do you have an Asda near you Sandy. I got mine at my local one rather than queue round the block at the doctors.
