How apt that the blandest Dr Who ever has the blandest ever edition of Who Do You Think You Are, usually one of my favourite series. I’d say that I can’t wait for her to be replaced as the Time Lord, but we all know the BBC’s priorities for her replacement will be box-ticking political correctness. What do you reckon? More disappointing is that David Walliams is next up on WDYTYA

I introduced my son to classic Doctor Who. McCoy turned out to be his favourite. I tried pushing hom towards Troughton, but he resisted. Bloody kids.
Just for the record, I've been advocating Chiwetel Ejiofor for the role ever since David Tennant left. He has that otherworldly quality, is a fine actor, and wanted to see the toxic part of the fanbase explode with rage.

Theblip, is your problem with Jodie Whittaker based on her perfomance, her gender or the general standard of the her run on the show?

Having lived through most of the Doctors, I didn’t and don’t want a female one, same way as I never want a female 007. I also think the stories and scripts have been very poor during JW’s stint as the Time Lady.
I like Jodie Whittaker so will see if this is on catch up.
I would love to see Robert Sheehan play the Doctor.
I like Sheehan. He's great in Umbrella Academy, but maybe a little too youthful for The Doctor. In a few years perhaps. I'd still be open to a non-white Doctor, but as long as the writing improves, I'll be happy. It's really let Jodie down in my opinion.
hi the bloop
a few things
the fella died in a military hospital in Leaf Square pendleton - from infection aged 25 - empyema - lung full of pus
secondary to a penetrating injury of the abdo which had probably punctured a gut
altho Hope WAS a military hospital ( one of 3000 )

and the other thing is they didnt explain how someone cd go from mine labourer to mine owner - worth £31 000
and then where did the money go?
thanks for the BA
Many people have money and then lose it! I run genealogy group and it is amazing how common it is. Mostly it is the father or grandfather earning/marrying the money, then the children/grandchildren waste it with profligacy or gamble it away!
Some tragic stories though
