hard to know what Amazon can do when some Brazilian robot decides to use its name.

Yours sincerely

Is it your Prime subscription? Or a scam?
It's definitely a scam.
I get them but all the time, my Amazon subscriptions auto renews.
Amazon have never rung me ever.
Loads of other similar ones always press a button. Never ever do that. Go direct to the correct site and you will see it's a scam.
I get those calls regularly, you learn to recognise the voice.
Oooh yes. The prerecorded Amazon, the £600 taken out of my bank account, the Inland Revenues arrest warrent.
I also had this one in the past few days, just went on my Amazon account and checked the monthly DD was in place. I am getting so many scam calls/emails lately, quite a new thing for me.

I’ve asked this question but never got an answer .If anyone is caughout by being put on to a premium number and run up a cost of say 80 quid if that appears on you bill the provider must know something is not right but say you have to pay it how does the con merchants get their money ?
There is some disagreement as to whether you are actually transferred to a premium rate line. I cannot find the definitive answer.
Because when you press 1 you are meant to think you are through to your Amazon account manager and obviously you will query why they are taking this amount. However you will be talking to someone or something who is intent on finding out your account details using devious ploys to find this information. Unfortunately lots of people will be taken in. and find their bank accounts have been emptied.
Or as Jackdaw says you will be put through to a premium rate line which pays out to the fraudster.

I’m nearly forty and have never ever heard of any one been arrested for these crimes .is it possible no one ever has .
They are all based off-shore and are out of the jurisdiction.
They can not get arrested because they are not in this country,do not be tempted to press any other button but the one to end the call.
Question Author
That’s a good point ,you have to being in the same country to commit a crime .
Keep getting similar calls purporting to be from Amazon. I just put the phone down now. I have an Amazon account but not Prime
