Yippee! Celebrations! Thank you God!
My great granddaughter was born this morning, over 7lb :-)
Mother and baby doing fine, (don't know about Frankie, her partner only 18, probably reality has set in!)
Mother, Lillie, my granddaughter is only just 17, still at college.
But hey ho, now is the time for a Great Granddad Shower, with a little beer maybe?
But ney my friends isn't it just fantastically marvellous?

Oh dear Nailit, I just had to go to the very very near Aldi and buy 4 beers.
This is another landmark in life, much better than getting my bus pass.
Thinking of writing stuff down in a notebook, for posterity.
Do any other ABers do that kind of thing?

Anyway, AB is the only social media I use.
No Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Zoom, or anything else I have never heard of.
Consequently, I am fortunate enough to have stumbled into a close knit community whom I love and rely on from time to time.
I don't know you but I love you all.
Many thanks for your kind sentiments and sharing my joy.
Now I'm ready for another can, and hope I don't get silly, dancing on the tables like Soxy, singing like Mamya, fighting the door staff like Nailit, and generally causing mayhem.
Start posting carp in R&S Theland and you'll receive as good as you give....not off the hook yet mate ;-)
For the time been, I share your joy. (hic)
Just had another beer on your behalf,
hope you realise the sacrifice that im making here....
Congratulations to you and your great-granddaughter and her partner.

Many congrats to you and yours, Theland.

I know the great sacrifice you are making Nailit, but it has to be done.
I'm on number three. Feeling wobbly. Sight blurred.
Theland, I know how you feel. My fourth grandchild was born over a month ago, a girl and I've yet to see her due to she being in Ireland.
We get daily updates & video calls but it's not the same.

I'm looking forward to SMELLING her!
Nothing smells like a new baby!
(Not the nappy!)
Congratulations and congratulations!
There's nothing quite like that lovely glow of happiness when a new member of the family arrives safe and sound!

This feeling will go on. Visits here to us, visits to them, sod the lockdown, I'm taking loads of vitamin D3.
Life MUST go on.

Congrats Theland :o)
Whee! How wonderful! Hope everything continues to go well with the baby - do let us know her name, please.
Our great-grandson was 3 in September - it's a weird feeling. We haven't met little Archie yet - they live in Devon, hope we live long enough.
Hearty congrats to all involved - 17 wasn't much out-of-the-way to become a mother when I was young (I was classed as 'middle-aged' at 26!). A new life is wonderful for all. Congrats - Gt-grandad .... and welcome to the club. :)
^^^ Sorry, just trawled back = welcome Lottie! x
How wonderful. Congrats to you ALL.

Thank you Eve. I know that as a Christian, you appreciate the special significance to me.
But everybody has been so kind in their sentiments, and sharing in my joy.
Congratulations Theland. you must be over the moon. What lovely news for a dreary Saturday night. Me and him were similar ages to your grand daughter when we had our first child, he's 51 now. All the best to them allxx

That's great Meg!
Lovely life experiences and stories to be told.
Congratulations.

I have met my new great granddaughter, Lottie Grace, they took the necessary photograph to stick on the fridge for when I've gone :-)
Wow! Big family!
Six kids, nine grandkids and one great granddaughter.
(And loads of cats and dogs!)

( '' Will they miss me when I'm gone,'' - to a country and western tune!)
It's lovely that you've met Lottie, treasure her :-)
