Friend sent this to me and I wanted to share. Wasn't quite sure where to put it so hope ChatterBank is OK.

Barely the day has started and it's already six in the evening. Barely arrived on Monday and it's already Friday, the month is half over and the year is half over.

Already 40, 50 or 60 years of our lives have passed, we realize that we lost our parents, friends and we realize it's too late to go back.

So, let’s try, despite everything, to enjoy the remaining time. Let's keep looking for activities that we like. Let's put some colour in our gray. Let's smile at the little things in life that put balm in our hearts.
And despite everything, we must continue to enjoy with serenity this time we have left. Let's try to eliminate the afters:

I'm doing it after...
I'll say it after...
I'll think about it after...
We leave everything for later like ′′after′′ is ours.
What we don't understand is that:
Afterwards, the coffee gets cold...
Afterwards, priorities change...
Afterwards, the charm is broken...
Afterwards, health passes...
Afterwards, the kids grow up...
Afterwards parents get old...
Afterwards, promises are forgotten...
Afterwards, the day becomes the night...
Afterwards, life ends...
And then it's too late.
So, Let's leave nothing for later,
because we will still be waiting to see you later. We will lose the best moments, the best experiences, the best friends and the best family.

The day is today. The moment is now.
We are no longer at the age where we can afford to postpone what needs to be done right away.
So let’s see if you have time to read this message and then share it.
Or maybe you'll leave it for “later.”

Does that mean that I can't have a double (or even triple) portion of "afters" with my meal then? Hopefully not!

;-)
Thank you, Maggie. So true.
Claptrap.
Sorry, that's all too mawkish for me!
So true.
I missed my kids growing up because I was always working, 12 hour days 7 days a week for years.
I should have worked less, and spent more time with them.
Money isn't everything.

Thank you for all your comments - not to everyone's taste, but then, what is?
I liked it Maggie
Thanks for that Maggie, I think we all need reminding from time to time that nothing and no one lasts for ever and we should show our appreciation to our loved ones, I don’t mean saying “I love you” all the time because a lot of people aren’t comfortable with that. I think it was Einstein who said “learn from yesterday, live for today and hope for tomorrow”.
Interesting.....
I would love to get on with the things which Covid-19 prevents me from doing, but if I do I will be breaking the law, and will also probably end up as the late Canary.
It's very true, I am guilty of this myself, and the saying 'Don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today' is exactly what I do and have often regretted it.
"Be wise to-day; ’tis madness to defer;
Next day the fatal precedent will plead;
Thus on, till wisdom is push’d out of life.
Procrastination is the thief of time;
Year after year it steals, till all are fled,
And to the mercies of a moment leaves
The vast concerns of an eternal scene."

there is a reverse image to this.....There are things that we could be...should be...getting on with that take us away from here and now. Its in my mind now because my dog is getting older. he wants to do less and can cope with less disruption to his routine. I am deliberately leaving things for later...putting stuff off till the very sad "after" postponing is not always a bad thing.
Oh yes, there are definitely times when deferring is the best plan of (in)action.
Yes, priorities....
I like that very much Maggie and remember how very quickly my lovely parents did indeed get old. I'm with woof also, my dog is my life now and I do put her first because I know from past experiences how quickly a loved dog's life passes, so yes, I do put things off to spend time with her and that makes both me and her happy - win win !

as Scarlett said "Tomorrow is another day"
