naomi, I don't think any number of posts from me will help you to see why it's a shame ... let's just say if you had seen the video it could have saved you the effort of guessing (wrongly) what Trump would do if he was running for the White House and his opponent was laid low, as we saw four years ago exactly what he did do.

Ellipsis, no wrong guess. I meant what I said. I’ve seen the video before - I believe in the run up to the election when the gloves were off. Not nice at all - I agree - but I think now, as president, he would do as they’ve done and make the right noises. I don’t say he’d care anymore for them than they care about him - he wouldn’t give a hoot - but by the same token I’d hazard a guess that none of them are worried sick for his welfare. Saints they ain't!

But Biden isn't president. He's in the exact same position Trump was in four years ago, and he's behaved differently even though we're in the run-up to the election and the gloves are most definitely off, as the debate the other night showed.

Biden has behaved very differently to Trump. Whose response was preferable ... Trump's obvious bile four years ago, or Biden's potentially insincere well-wishes now?

Most of the posts early in this thread were suggesting that bile, even sincerely-held bile, should be suppressed.

Hmmm… there are two ways of looking at it. Trump could have been slimily disingenuous like Biden et al, or he could have been honestly horrible. He chose the latter - a gift for the perpetual Trump bashers ….so what are you moaning about? It’s a win situation for you. Carry on.
