I have a Panasonic DVD player connected to my TV. When I try to watch a recorded programme, I press OK or Play on the DVD remote, it just goes back to the Programme I was watching on the TV, I just feel there is a button that needs changing or is it the HDM1 that is the wrong input? Hopes that explains the problem, I am not technical at all. Thanks all.

might be worth switching off at the plug and rebooting the recorder

You say a "recorded" programme. Where are you recording it? Do you use the DVD remote to action other functions? For instance if you have a Panasonic TV as well it will operate both.

I record programmes onto my DVD player which is connected to my TV. Instead of playing back a recording, it just goes back to the TV programme I was watching before I switched on the DVD player. Ie I was watching Harry Hill on the TV and every time Impress Play To watch a DVD I get back to Harry Hill.... Yes it does operate both, but now although I have all my recorded programmes ready to watch, it doesn’t seem to be connected properly so I can watch them any more !

Amazing ... aelmpvw .... it worked! Thank you so much.
you're welcome :-)
...and it's actually a DVD recorder you have.....
Hmm. Without knowing the DVD player model I am going to assume that it is a modern one and that you are not recording to a disc but to the internal hard drive or using the inbuilt Freeview facility. Firstly are you sure that it is actually recording? Are you sure that you have not exceeded the storage space allocated to the DVD or cloud provided space. Before doing anything else reboot it as Ael has recommended. Sometimes, like computers, digi boxes and other devices get upgrades and system patches that require a reboot. This need you to unplug from the wall socket sometimes with some devices or to switch off at the socket. Wait for 30 seconds or so(for any capacitors in the power supply to decay their charge) and then plug in/switch on and hear the hard drive whirr as it boots up. Just a question......is the DVD internet connectivity enabled?
Haha crossed post as I was cogitating. Result.
