Click the “View” tab in the Ribbon. Then click the “View Side by Side” button in the “Window” button group. Notice that this is a toggle button. So, to turn off View Side by Side in Word, click the “View Side by Side” button again.

hi Barry. When i click on "view" I get the option of 1 page, 2 pages or page width I select 1 page and that fixes it but when I adjust the size to read it more easily it reverts to 2 pages.I don't see "side by side" option and what do you mean by " window" button group?
What version of Word do you have?
if I click on One Page, it goes the way you want it - that is, scroll down to see page 2, it isn't sitting alongside.
Or just make the document *** on the slider at the bottom right. Then itll be forced to show only 1 page
Whoops bigger with a typo!
Fancy putting that in the same sentence as "bottom" !!!

hi guys. I'm using Word 2007 version.I've tried your suggestions but as soon as I increase the text size it reverts to 2 pages side by side.I don't understand what you mean bedknobs by slider ***.There's nothing like that other than scrolling down the page or in my case scrolling down 2 pages side by side.
I have a more recent version but it doesn't revert to side-by-side pages as yours does. I wonder if your program is just getting old and cranky and in need of replacing?
i dont mean make the text bigger but the view bigger. T the bottom right corner of my screen in word is a slider with 100% in the middle. Move to the right till only 1 page shows https://ibb.co/719N8r8
Go to the Layout tab and click on Margins > Custom Margins. Select Normal on Multiple pages and select Set As Default. Now reopen the Word application. I hope this helps.
If you click on the 'view' tab is is set to print layout or read mode? Print layout generally will get you to single pages along with the suggestions above.
