British Police Officer Killed...............

........whilst on holiday. Did you hear about that? It happened approximately 5 weeks ago in Slovakia. He was in a bar and tried to stop a fight when they turned on him and killed him. He leaves a wife and two young children. I don't recall Bojo the Clown making any statement about it in the commons. The police officers' wife is my daughters' best friend and they have known each other since they were children. The whole country should have as much sympathy for this officers' family as there is being shown, rightly, for the officer who died in Croydon.

He didn't get murdered in the line of duty - he was a British man on holiday abroad with his family, not in his role as a police officer.

His death deserves as much coverage as any Brit murdered in a foreign bar brawl. There is usually some coverage, if only in the victim's local paper.
I would have expected his police force to issue a statement.

Nope, i don't see your point. As i said, i sincerely feel for his family but the only reason you are on your soap box is because the policeman's wife is a friend of your daughter. I don't recall you coming on here when innocent football fans have been stabbed and killed abroad. Anyone who tries to stop a brawl in a bar runs a huge risk of being hurt - not just off-duty policemen. He could have been a plumber or a painter and decorator.

I would much prefer to told about the death of someone I knew very well by a family member of the deceased rather than read about it in the newspaper or hear about on the tv or radio.

Mostly rubbish verging on insults. I should have expected these type of replies from the precious, assuming users of this website. A police officer dies violently; there is a widow with two fatherless children and some idiots take more exception to me saying Bojo the Clown or that I'm some sort of attention seeker. I'll say it again; a British police officer died violently in recent weeks. The attention seekers are in the replies.
