Definitions are avoided by most people as it exposes the parroted unthought out nonsense they say: try asking anyone who spouts words like god, democracy, socialism, capitalism, communism to define what they say *in their own* words and you will be lucky to receive a single answer.
Defining what you mean by the words you use in debating is very important and can be crucial, or the debate is a pointless waste of time.
