So what has really changed?

Pubs closed at 10pm (again)
Table service only (I think that’s how it was anyway?)
Weddings reduced to 15
Office workers to work from home if poss (which most were doing anyway).
Higher fines for non conforming individuals and businesses who allow that.

Have a missed something? To me not a lot has changed?

What's the alternative, though, teacake? What would you have done with social distancing, face coverings, lockdowns etc, that would have worked better, without trashing the economy?

Judge youll have to form a political party 'cos all the parties support the tighter restrictions as do most members of the public. Same in Wales, and in Scotland, and in Northern Ireland. Infact most countries abroad are doing it aswell but stricter, friends in italy and Paris says they now take temperatures whenever you go in a train station or shop and police make you wear masks outside. Maybe everyone else has got it wrong but a prefer to be safe than sorry until March. Anyway Kier supports the new rules and thats good enough for me
If you are an average healthy adult (not a super-slim fitness addict) you have more chance of being hit by a meteorite than dying of CV-19.
A million peopel have died so far this year of Corona and probably coming up to 2 million when real figures come out of China Russia Africa and co. Maybe old or ill or overweight or dementure cases dont really count as much if not average. Have you got the figure for meteorite's.
I’ve said this so many times on AB; we all have. Every death is very sad, but we are not dropping like flies.
Can someone replace the doom monger Whitty?
//Judge youll have to form a political party 'cos all the parties support the tighter restrictions as do most members of the public.//

We'll see how many people support them when (a) they are shown to have no tangible effect on infections- they will peak and trough anyway over time - whilst (b) the economy, health and social wellbeing of the country continue to be destroyed.
Whether the current restrictions will have an effect is different from the question of whether *any* restrictions will have an effect. Common sense should tell you that a disease that relies on people being in contact/close proximity in order to spread will spread less readily if people don't spend time in close proximity.
Common sense..........
In very short supply (like bog roll)
So people have breathed all over each other until 10 pm, and then? The virus switches off?
I wish I were young enough to need to worry about these things ;)
Jim, what is your new avatar ?
Or cloverjo, hopefully many of them people who used to be drunk by 12pm and started hugging all there mates and forgetting masks on the way to the bus and not social distancing in kebab shops or fighting outside will go home more sensibly at 10pm.
No they won't, bob. They'll just go out earlier and get sozzled and do all that stuff then.
Maybe
I’m not sure it works like that
Okay sound as if you know what you're talking about. Dont know where you live and who youre mates are but most people I know who want to get sozzled will do so at home cheaply instead of going out. But a will update you after weekend when will see
newjudge are you saying a new anti restrictions party will be formed which will sweep to power, cos your wrong IMO. A bad judge, ha. In Wales its Labour and we support restrictions. In Scotland Nicole Sturgen is invincable. Or will Kier switch tack and start insisting we stop restrictions. Cant see it myself. If anythink they are all stricter than Boris, he should follow Nicola Sturgen IMO.
What has changed?
I'd say to those that have not had another lockdown forced on them, enjoy going to the pub till 10pm, enjoy waiter service going for a meal, enjoy the restriction of on 6 people , enjoy travelling on public transport....
We here have had that taken away from us but I consider myself lucky anyway that I haven't contracted the virus although I abided by the all the rules set out for us, I can wait, things will improve with time
