The Avengers and Mrs Peel were probably my introduction to British telly in the States. As a teenager, I marvelled at this sophisticated woman who karate chopped her way through every episode. I wanted to be her. ;)

I would imagine Diana was many a boy's teenage crush when she was sporting that shiny, black catsuit in The Avengers. Apparently it took 45 mins to remove ("it was like a wet-suit"). I'd gladly have waited. RIP Diana.
