If the 1920s is called the 20s and 1930s is called the 30s etc, what do you call the period 1901-1909 and 1911-1919?

I have always contended that they missed a trick when creating CE and BCE and opting to keep them the same as AD and BC. By simply making 1BC equal to year 0 (CE ?) they could, at a stroke, have corrected that date error with minimal confusion. But no, they didn't have enough sense.

2000 was the last year of the 20th century. There aren't 1999 pennies in £20 but there are 2000. The first year of the 21st century was 2001.
