Induction Hobs

I have inherited a house with an induction hob. It doesn't heat anything up that isn't made of iron. I want to use my aluminiun coffee percolator on it. It seems to me that the best way to do this would be to place an iron plate between hob and percolator. But I haven't found anywhere that sells such a thing. Any ideas?

I use stainless steel pans on my induction hob. I'm sure you'll grow to love it
Took me a while to get used to mine and I had to buy some new pans. Tip - take a 'fridge magnet with you - it it sticks to the pan then it'll be OK.. Next best cooking method to gas - but it interferes with my radio.
I disagree with jourdain2, induction is the best/fastest by a good margin - unless you particularly want a naked flame or an explosive in your house.
I grew-up with gas, Karl, and cooked by it all my life until 5 years ago when I moved here and there was no gas in the village. Never any problem in the slightest with gas - and you could light a candle from the hob when the electricity fails (you could also see where the flame was). 'Heat that obeys you' as the slogan said.
Love mine , could never go back to elements or gas
There is a reason that professional kitchens use gas....
