Thank you, Peter.
Thanks PP
These scams obviously work but it's hard to see why anyone might think Royal Mail would email them about anything.
FF the fact is that some people are easily duped, particularly the elderly,

// These scams obviously work//

even a take up of 1-10 000 wd be good
I thought this one ( we need more details) wd put a thingey on my machine - worm, keystrike reporter )
PP........From your postings I am unable to make out what exactly is the scam to which you are referring.

If you have had an email purporting to be from Royal Mail, what did it say in the communication.?

Hans.

Peter.... Very unhelpful response.

It's a quiz .. not a scam?
Question Author
I think my idea was to warn people that if the Royal Mail contacted you out of thin air
they should read whatever script it said - - very carefully
(*)
from Royal Mail
you have a parcel waiting which you expect
and in order to deliver
we need a key strike in the label
and this will allow you to enter further details
so we can deliver

( from r j cake )

(*)a fellow was on a country shoot with a known very bad shot. He made a notice for his tweeds, 'I am not a deer'. The fella did get shot and the very bad shot said 0 god my dear chap I am sorry I thought it said "I am a deer"

I wdnt like impoverished ABers to be taken in by a royal mail scam -and complain:
"we read the script and it said " we are not the scam you read about" and it was"

Peter ...... Many thanks for having given me 'Best Answer' and having now explained matters, more lucidly.

I am of the opinion that you are a very intelligent person, but am unable to understand why you keep posting in the manner in which you do.

Please forgive me if you think I am being offensive because it is my wish that you should respond to folk in Answerbank so that they Do Not have to separate sugar from sand.
