Back To School

Does anyone else think that when the children go back to school this week that standards will improve because they will now all have to sit in rows facing the teacher?
We oldies were taught this way and most of us could read by 7 and numerate by 9. And our classes were larger, 36-42 in a class. When all this sitting in groups Came in I remember my daughter’s teacher left the profession as she said “I can’t teach a child with its back to me!”
