I have seen several posts on here about euthanasia for people with terminal physical diseases. This is about mental health problems...

Theland, George V was not euthanised. There's no evidence whatever that he wanted it. In which case he was murdered - in time to make the next morning's edition of The Times.

The doctor's confession is here

Lord Dawson, the royal physician explained decades ago that he (by administering a large dose of morphine and cocaine) knowingly hastening George V's death.

Something that I believe happens daily.

Actually, jno... I had to google, but that does still fit with "euthanasia"...

the painless killing of a patient suffering from an incurable and painful disease or in an irreversible coma.
I don't see that scenario as murder either.

I was sat in the same spot I am now when I asked for a few minutes before they did the final increase in dosage of my Husband'd morphine pump - I knew it would be the last time he responded to me.
I think you're probably right, pixie. As it's being used at the moment, I think the idea is that the patient wants it. I don't want my doctor mercy-killing me unless I've asked him/her to.

No, jno... I have probably used the wrong term. From a bit of google, "assisted death" is what I meant... it would make more difference legally, I'm sure, than for AB conversation...
Mamya, I'm so sorry, I have been with people in very similar situations. I know it is hard xx
This week is not nice every year, don't worry.

Xx

Its inconvenience and a big responsibility for everyone, but I believe it has been done with good medical reasons.
