I'm tempted to have a crack at recreating this healthy and nutritious dish from my childhood in Scotland. What are the practicalities, though? Are the pies cooked in an oven first or microwaved prior to frying?

''Anyone ever have fried pork pie with their Full English?

Deeeeeelishus.''

No but as a kid was given pork pie warmed in the oven: the jelly and fat melts, leaks out of the pastry, forming a yellow-ish pool of fluid around the pie.

Not Deeeeeelishus.
It's all a balance of knowing how long to wait before you lose all the jelly but it's still warm, as children we loved hot whist pies.
