We’re stopping giving Christmas presents to all but our five close family members, and they’ll get money sent via online banking,
Most of those (and there aren’t many)who we usually buy Christmas presents for we only see once a year anyway, to exchange gifts, which strikes me as ridiculous and we’ve been wondering how to stop it without causing offence, although I’m sure the recipients will be as relieved as we are to put a stop to it.
This year it’ll be because of COVID, social distancing, elderly people, compromised immune systems, etc, etc.
Relieved to have finally made the decision :)

Will they then send you their present to you of money??
We've been doing this for a few years now , Christmas is my most favourite time of the year but it doesn't have to be about giving presents and sending cards, last few years I've donated £30 ( 6 Christmas lunches) for homeless people instead of sending tonnes of cards , we as a family try to go away for the week between Christmas and New Year in this country , with the money we'd spend on presents

No ladybirder, we’ve told them not to bother at all. We don’t need anything and I’d rather the money stayed in their pockets.
We’ve been doing similar about Christmas cards Bobbi, I send six, well, five this year as one has died, and only to elderly relatives. The money goes to the local cancer hospital instead.
I obviously send a few cards but nowhere near as many as I did Vagus,
We are struggling to find somewhere to book up for though this year ,everywhere is full
Stopped sending cards, just send grandkids money, all 8 of them.
I still leave a carrot out for Rudolph and a glass of wine for Santa.
