I am looking for a piece of length of plastic 6 ft long, to insert in the gutter to drain the water down the drain pipe.

Any ideas please.

Most hardware shops and builders merchants will have it.
Confused here, Balloney.
Water normally just runs out of the outlet... or am I missing something?

Or, do you mean that you don't have an outlet, and you want to insert one?
Glad I wasn't the only confused one.
Prhaps your existing gutter is not set right - should not be level - needs a drop from end to end so that the water can drain.

Tuvok,
You have made it more clear than I should have.

I need a length of drop to lay in the gutter, so I do not have to detach the whole lot.
Your phraseology is confusing the matter balloney.
In a gutter setup you tend to have a few parts. The horizontal part that the rain gets collected in is known as the gutter.
The hole in the gutter that the water flows towards, is known as the outlet.
The round pipe that connects under the outlet and is fixed to the side of your house is known as the downpipe.
The downpipe can run into a collection point known as a Hopper.. or it can run straight down to ground level and runs into a drain or gulley.
If you use these terms it will all make sense..
;-)
G'morning balloney.........^^^ 07.00.....You say Tuvok has made the position clear (ie. gutter Not set correctly.) Then you say...."I need a length of drop to lay in the gutter, so I do not have to detach the whole lot."

Sorry, but you will Not find find such a length of plastic. It's a matter of suitably adjusting or renewing the whole length of the guttering to arrive at the position indicated by Tuvok'

Hans.
The "drop" is the amount by which the gutter gets lower with horizontal distance towards the outlet, it isn't something you can buy to put in the gutter. Unfortunately, if water in the gutter is failing to flow towards the outlet and spilling over at some point then the only solution is to detach the gutter, reposition the brackets holding it in place to achieve the correct "drop", and refit the gutter. That is exactly what I had to do with a gutter having this very problem.
You don't suppose that balloney has a leaky gutter, from either a joint or a crack? Is the Existing guttering plastic, cast iron or even the old wooden stuff(does that still exist?) We need better info balloney. Plus there are different profiles if it is plastic, which makes in a bit more convoluted.
Meethinks balloney needs a new bubble for his spirit level...on special at Screwfix at the mo :-)

Thank you all for your replies, I shall resolve the situation.
One tends to get more relevant answers if stating the issue first, then asking about a proposed solution. Describing the proposed solution leads to further questions from folk not understanding why. As seen above.

(I too have guttering issues at my place. Must get someone in to look at them when I can.)
You are quite right O_G.

If only we knew what part of the gutter has water resting in it. When did the problem arise. What material is the gutter made from. Did balloney erect the guttering. etc. It could be a simple matter to put right if a section which has warped from sun heat needs replacing.

Anyway, I think I'll forget the issue because the OP appears to be confident that he can resolve matters without further help from ABers. Although if he does post further I will still try to help him, if possible.

Hans.
