The company I work for isn't agricultural as such as the feed we make is for wild animals but strangely are working week starts on a Friday .
Can someone tell me why the company would start there week on a Friday and what would the benefit be for owners and employees.

One benefit of having Wednesday and Thursday off is that 'everyone' is at work and places are not as crowded or busy.
do they use leftover stuff from other food industries? maybe those indistries ship it out weekly on a friday?
Where I work we have Saturday and Sunday off but Friday is the first day of the pay week, i think its done like that as before computerisation it gave more time for office staff to sort out the Friday wage slips
It's unclear what you means by the "working week starts on a friday"? Do you actually mean they work a five day week starting on Friday and then get Wed & Thu off as previous answers have assumed or does it mean you get usual Sat & Sunday off but each weeks's wages are calculated on the work done Friday to Thursday? Or indeed that the working week is 7 days and your days off depend on shift patterns or something but again calculated from each Friday?

In any event the answer is almost certainly no benefit but no harm either. Doesn't really matter what day you use. Perhaps it best suits their payroll processes to pay as soon as possible? There's not really enough information here to offer anything more.
