Ah I've made elderberry wine from dried elderberries many decades ago. It was wonderful. I may have overdone the amount of elderberries though. It was relatively thick and fruity. Clung to the glass as it was swirled.

No but I have made blackberry brandy and that was just delicious
i haven't but i've made some Blackberry gin and elderberry gin for Christmas and i'm making some Blackberry vodka.
gave up on winemaking because I am terrible at it. I don't like gin but have done some mean fruit vodkas and brandies
When you say that you have made blackberry gin and brandy do you mean that you have just put fruit in gin and brandy,or are you distilling it?
distilling without a licence is illegal in the Uk.
It will be as nice as the winemaker is skilled.

I once made elderberry wine when I still lived at home. I thought I did a really good job. I bottled it, put lovely foils on the bottles and labels. Then I left home for an exciting new future and left the bottles behind in my parents garage. I think they were eventually thrown away. I would quite like to make elderberry wine again but apparently it is high in tannin and takes a few years to mature which isn

pressed the button too soon. It isn`t compatible with my future so I thought I would try blackberry.
I simply added fruit to cheap vodka and gin, we have a bar in Bristol called vodka revolution and they make all kinds of flavoured vodka, one of the chefs told me how they made all the vodkas, rhubarb and custard, pineapple chunk, they crush boiled sweets and put it in the vodka and let it dissolve.

My dad has made all kinds of wine and ‘rum’. They were all awful. I used to take his strawberry wine to parties when I was a teenager, and no one drank them. They might still be doing the rounds now.
