hi, how do u remove cooking stains from a kitchen wall please (not oil). would it be good to buy a magic sponge and do you add water to it please? Thanks.

What kind of surface is it? Paint? Matt, eggshell, silk?
Magic sponges are good but don't buy the cheap ones. And yes, they need water.
why not the cheap ones ummm? I find them fine

it is a white matt painted wall
If it were mine and I didn't ask on here I'd use something like Flash spray with bleach. Sugar soap is also very good for getting greasy residue off (it's probably far more greasy than you think in the kitchen).
Woof - I've just found them rubbish.
Magic sponges are OK if you want to wash away the surface of the paint. They act like wet and dry sandpaper.
I'd recommend sugar soap also.
237...it depends on the paint. My walls are painted in silk so are washable but the were freshly skimmed before being painted.

Previously they were painted in matt. A magic sponge worked but like you say...they paint came away with the scuff.

I always use sugar soap when 'degreasing' kitchen walls and ceilings. Get the aerosol spray rather than the crystals, much easier to apply - particularly on the ceilings.
Ummm I buy them in bulk from Amazon and find them fine. Yes they are like fine sandpaper and will take paint or finishes off if used injudiciously but they are the best thing I know for stainless steel sinks.
