Has anyone used a humidifier and found it helpful? I have been thinking of buying one as I suffer with sinus problems/rhinitis/post nasal drip which causes a cough especially when waking.
I have looked at these online but it really is a minefield as there are so many.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you

We had one years ago and you won't believe how much water is in the air. Good idea to get one with your problems. Do you wash your nasal passages out with a Neti Pot or similar ? I used to have a chronic sinus problem until I got operated on, but found washing out gave me a lot of relief.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I use a nasal rinse quite regularly. One thing I wondered is does the mist from the humidifier make surrounding areas wet? I think I will invest in one but there are so many to choose from!

Surely, that's a DE-Humidifier you're on about?
Samuraisan; are you confusing 'humidifer' with dehumidifier'?
Sorry Ginge; you were too quick for me.

I was thinking the same. I definitely don't want a dehumidifier
Why not try a really inexpensive "aromatherapy diffuser"....you don't have to use essential oils in it, if you don't want to. Fill with water, switch on and get a fine cool mist. In your case, I'd place it at your bedside...they are virtually silent.....and, no, they don't wet surrounding areas.
Lots available on Amazon from under £15.
Sorry, yep I didn't read correctly. My bad ( as they say now).
Could have given you an example.....one of many. This one is £15 minus 10% ie £13.50

thanks gingejbee especially for the link. I will be looking into this in the next day or so. Much appreciated
I think using humidifiers really works as it can increase and adjust the relative indoor humidity of a room so that help you with allergies, wrinkles, dry skin, prevent flu and cough, good sleep etc. It will also do good to your baby and your pet and a healthy life.

For cough, certain research shows that at low relative humidity, influenza retains maximal infectivity and inactivation of the viru. Flu germs and other viruses survive and spread more easily in dry air conditions. By contrast, at higher relative humidity it will rapidly inactivate after coughing. Although virus carried on aerosol particles
