Won't be long now before an army of council artists with their buckets of white paint are out and about painting yet more pretty pictures of bikes on the tarmac, if they can see their way clear of taking a few tons of tarmac along with them also to fill the pot holes in the roads, that would be a real winner too. Ethiopia have got better roads. :0)

An electric moped?
"Pole dancing keeps you fit, safer too."

I don't think I could get my hands around a pole that would support my weight!

All said and done its just another one of Boris's erratic ideas, does he really believe that someone who is 20 stone plus that hasn't been on a bike since childhood is going to take to the road, because if he does he's a bigger nut than I thought, plus A&E are going to be very busy, what will they do with the piles of bodies at the side of the road, that have had fatal heart attacks. :0) Its getting that bad now I'm even wishing I'd voted Labour.
T/C, Don't think Danny, or Retro, will need to buy new bikes ,they have probably still got the originals issued to them, when they joined the Police Force. Thats unless the local museum haven't commandeered them

''Those wanting to ride one for exercise should restrict themselves to riding round in circles in velodromes chasing a bloke on a moped.''

That's not what happens, is it.
Some folk have no need of a bike after all the time spent on their high horse.

Around here lots of cyclists ride for sport/exercise. Country lanes/ off road/maybe a bit on main roads. It's mainly on the commute where cars & bikes & pedestrians come into conflict in heavy traffic.

Well that's what it looks like to me:
