Have I Got My Maths Right?

This is a very simple equation and I'm sure I'm right but need confirmation before I make a twit of myself.

On another forum a large group of people are clamouring for the £3.5m raised by Sir Tom to be given to the nurses as a pay rise. The NHS employs 311,380 nurses so I calculate that each nurse would receive £11.24 for one year and nothing for the next year.

Is that right?

There was nearer £39 million raised, including Gift Aid.

The figures for the number of nurses is that for the English NHS so there will be more to add for the rest of the UK.

He raised £ 32.8 million . Where do you get the figure of £3.5 from?

Yes of course, he did raise £33m which would equate to £112 per nurse as a one off payment.

Still ineffective but good for Barry to have the correct numbers.

Thanks all, I missed a digit off. So the correct figure is £112 per nurse, minus tax and NI etc.

According to my calculator 33,000,000 divided by 311,380 = 105.9798

Indeed. About two quid a week. Not enough to pay for the parking fees (which have been recently reintroduced) for one day.
