how far do MOT's go back on the dvla website please I just tried and it seemed to stop at 2017

On my Vehicke Smart app they go back years. An 05 car I looked up has all the MOTs back to 2008

I just looked up my previous car (1999 Volvo) and the records go back to 2006.

fruitsalad ........MOT is just going back to 2011 .
Don't forget that a motor vehicle doesn't require an MOT for the first 3 years from new. So if the vehicle in question was registered in 2008, You have the full history.

The DVLA online history should go back to 2005 according to the website
"You can only get results for tests done in England, Scotland or Wales since 2005."
