Uber Eats Delivery Charges

This may seem trivial but I’m annoyed
My Uber eats will charge £3.99 for delivery of my Big Mac
My son lives further away from the restaurant (?) and has free delivery- and the route is far more convoluted

On the Uber website it states,

"How does the delivery charge work on Uber Eats?

The delivery charge is the total delivery amount charged by the restaurant, and may include multiple fee components:

Delivery Fee: Varies based on your location. You pay less for nearby restaurants, and always know how much before selecting a restaurant.

Service Fee: Is based on your order size, it will be 10% of the subtotal. This is shown at checkout.

Small Order Fee: £2 for orders less than £5. You can remove it by adding more items."

That suggests you should be paying less than your son if yous are both getting it from the same McDonald's.

One would have thought that Uber would want to deliver everyone's food for free.

Ones local mcd’s is nearer to one than it is to ones son although it is the same franchise of the said fast food outlet
One is, rightly, outraged by this - especially when really fancied a delivered breakfast
So - one is going to get ones bread maker going to make some soft rolls - so one can have a nice 4 rasher organic nitrate free bacon sandwich

Why can't you fetch it yourself? If you can't be rsed, you should be willing to pay for delivery.
