I won't bother you with my White Album cover...
I sorry to put a downer on it, but I hope the residents wanted to do this.
I know of a care home where residents are plastered with makeup and told they look beautiful by the ‘carers’ taking the pee.
Excellent, ta pasta - I'd bet that everyone involved had a great time doing these :-)
What a great project and some fabulous results.

Clover, the article states " Those who participated in this wonderful photography project were able to copy it as they saw fit. "...so I'm assuming it was voluntary.
I saw this on the Midlands News yesterday evening.

One of the covers was Rag 'n' Bone Man. 'Classic'? Seriously??

He is not a classic artist, and his album cover is not classic art work.

You need to produce a good deal more superior work over a period of time to qualify - he has a seriously long way to go.
You get right along to Sydmar Lodge and tell them they have it wrong.
Andy, I think you're focusing on the wrong aspect of this endeavour. It's quite possible that the residents were given a bunch of album covers and were allowed to pick whatever they wanted to do.

Neither Blink-182 or Taylor Swift are particularly classic or iconic either, but as the residents seem to have had a blast doing it, what does it matter.

Nice work to all involved :-)
//One of those who features in the photos is 93-year-old Sheila, who recreated Rag'n'Bone Man's album Human, having met the singer at a show last year.

She jokingly told BBC Breakfast she had been persuaded to take part in the project "with a gun".//

I have no issue at all with what was done - just the notion of referring to 'classic' album covers.

That's fine, if you confine your selection to classic album covers, if not, and clearly this was 'not', then just call the popular album covers or favourite album covers, or just album covers.

If you are going to call something 'classic', then it needs to fit the description, and several of the albums did not.

It matters not one jot to the vast majority of population, but when you have the love of music that I have, it matters a lot.

^^^^...just spluttered all over my tablet.
Sorry,

Not really ;-)
And the resident ah thinks that this thread should be concerned with his "love of music" rather than the fact that some old people were having a jolly good time taking part in the above mentioned activities!

That's not what I think at all - as usual that is something you have made up so you can have an off-thread dig.

Tiresome.
