Since the 1900s humans has been drawn without that unless they has been drawn more realistic. You draw humans with big lips, big navels and big nails with medium sized lips, mediums sized navels and nails but otherwise don't. Is it becuase you don't think on that on real humans?

Artistic licence allows the artist to portray a subject any way they feel to get the point across.

I for one am struggling to see your point.
They may be Richard Osman, Mamyalynne.
I understand Richard.
I'm sure, but he's Zanders Pointless friend. :-)
The last time I said that a post was nonsense I had my answer removed,so I'm not going to do it again!
firstly I don't draw so I cant answer the question on why "I" do it
Secondly a quick google of 20th century paintings https://www.google.com/search?sxsrf=ALeKk01XrGaBeDXFNOUt0Pf2wCS49krvQw:1593616199170&q=20th+century+paintings&tbm=isch&chips=q:20th+century+paintings,g_1:famous:OiyRGRF011w%3D&usg=AI4_-kTyCBr-E_F7dHomE_71FSTJhFNVQA&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjesdb7qqzqAhUOTRUIHZpXBF0QgIoDKAB6BAgEEAQ&biw=1280&bih=603 shows that most of the ones that show humans they definitely have lips. Navels are hard to tell, as they mainly have clothes on, and nails also hard to tell
I only said I was struggling and that's true, more elucidation would help.
Can you give us some examples please...as links we can see? Is this the work of well known artists or illustrators?
This smile doesn't have lips. :-)
mine does, Tilly :-))

However, as Bednobs' post points out, plenty of portraits have lips.

It's mainly that many humans don't have lips in things that isn't real in i have and i think i will experience in my life. It's video games, artworks on internet, artworks on food, novels, comics, tv shows, movies and artworks on sites. They have eyebrows and noses but not lips when all real humans have lips. If you see a human here that isn't a photo or a video such as a account image many of them won't have lips. It doesn't affect what you think about it and that's why i haven't attempted to find out why until now. I think it's becuase it look better and that not real things look simpler then real things but i do wonder. I searched why humans have lips on internet but found nothing. There's 10 answers now i don't want very many answers that doesn't tell why many not real humans that isn't realistic drawn don't have lips. So don't answer if you don't know more then me about it. I don't want to be called Folviderox but becuase i don't know how to change your username don't judge me by my username.
1) If you limit people to reply on things they know loads about, there will be no replies on the website at all.
2) in a public forum you don't get a say on who answers or what they answer
3) scre you
humans have lips to stop their faces fraying at the mouth.
Fol (nice name by the way) do you have any examples of drawings without lips that you can post here for us to understand you better?
Lips were invented just after lipstick was discovered.
Some do some don't - artistic licence

Game characters don't count as they are simplified images, close enough to be convincing at relatively fast pace.
Some modern art may define human in terms of spirit which is not born ,so no navel as to lips all sizes may be shown but lighting and expression may make them less obvious. As for fingernails in non representational art they may extract from a gesture which is portrayed to communicate a thought of feeling.

You really need Jerome57 on this be has got some heavy duty qualifications in Art and loves a good discussion
I'd like to suggest that you give up on art and study English and good manners. You can't decide which answers you want.
ah, do you mean in cartoons? like just a line for the mouth, and just nothing on the ends of the fingers?

if you mean in animation its just simplicity - it means redrawing with every frame in some types, and also just stylistic choice.

i was confused what you meant because i'll never seen a sketch just without those things - except in cartoons

as for 'meaning' behind it, no there is none - we all know we have them, no-one thinks theyre not there or anything.
