Whatsapp Photos Now Loading To Google Photos

I have taken some photos today with my Samsung phone which are loading fine to Google Photos But any photos sent to me from other people via WhatsApp today aren’t loading to Google Photos, either on my phone or on my iPad. Back up is up to date. What can I do? Thanks all. Not technical so easy answers please.

I left many whatsapp groups as every pic sent to me and video just stores in every bit of memory and storage in my phone - in the gallery, the Google photos -imagas, I just don't like that app for receiving photos - I spend days deleting them

You can change the settings on the app, smurf and ducksie, so they either automatically save to your gallery, or you save the ones you choose. I have changed mine a few times x

Fixed it.. WhatsApp back up was switched off... but how do these things suddenly get switched off ?? !!
