Sometimes it will not fast forward. I can do it until about halfway through the programme then it won't do it anymore. On the indicator it says the programme is half an hour and has reached that, but the programme is one hour. What could be causing this and what can I do.
Most of the time it works perfectly.

Because it's recording in real time & you have reached the point where the program is. You can't go into the future.

Sorry that's not the answer. I always check for that.
The programme I had recorded was done this morning.
Ok. I had run across that complaint before & that was the "problem".

Guess it's back to the shop then. Hope it's still under warranty.

No chance!! It's about 10 years old.
Perhaps some bad sectors on the Hard Drive. On a computer one can run a utility to identify & skip those. No idea if that's possible with a DVR.
I see you've had another problem with it. Ten years is a good run. Maybe it's time to get a new one. Good luck.

try a hard drive format but it will clear all your stored progs though.
better still do a factory reset but click format hard drive at the same time,my humax is 10 years + and still working as new
How do you do a factory reset on a Humax, derek?
'Most of the time it works perfectly'. Wouldn't you like a machine that worked well all the time? Just buy a new one.
