What’s wrong with writing proper English ( there’s another ,proppa) , I see this time and again on FaceBook , text abbreviation speak , all thats need is another letter

The effort was worth it, Bobbi. If only to see the look on my children's faces. They still bring it up now and again and they, in turn, try to keep up with whatever 'new' language their kids are using :-)
