Leaves, twigs, weeds and chopped down plants.
If I leave them to dry out, will they burn OK?
I’ve got one of those metal incinerator dustbin type thingies.

I have no neighbours or roads that could be affected by the smoke.

Thanks.

They'll burn just fine - I love a good bonfire but people have got very uptight about bonfires lately, unjustifiably so. Enjoy yours!
That should be fine then, you can use the ash on the garden. Will not create a lot of smoke if they are dry.

Thank you both.
If I don’t wait for them to dry out, will they burn just as well?

May have a go this afternoon.
No moisture entrapped will stop them burning, just depends how dry they are.
^ burning easily.

OK. Thanks.
I’ve got a load already dried out.
There is rain forecast for tomorrow, so I was hoping not to have to wait, but it looks like I’ll have to put all I chopped down today, in the shed.

I’m just trying to avoid more trips to the recycling centre. I’ve been going at least four times a week since they reopened!
Please check there isn't a hedgehog in there having a kip before you set fire to it Bb. You never know. Thank you.

There won’t be, ladybirder.
As I’ve chopped things down, they’ve been snipped into small pieces, and dropped into bags and boxes.

Haven’t seen any hedgehogs in the six months I’ve lived here. Always had them at other houses.
Fingers crossed for you that they will come eventually.
don't they have a "green" bin collection up your way? greta will be after you, all that carbon going into the atmosphere.
TTT no more than driving a car for a short distance. Both avoidable, but necessary in some cases.
Alternatively, you could invest in a garden shedder/chipper.
Very antisocial if left smouldering. It effects asthma sufferers, and others with breathing problems. Have a bonfire by all means, but when burnt hose it down.
