There's rightly a lot of coverage of the horrendous murders (stabbings) in Reading but I wonder why there has been far less coverage of the shootings that led to two deaths at the Moss Side street party. One victim was of Gambian descent; no details have been given of the other victim. I'm surprised BLM and its supporters haven't commented on this killing and discouraged such gatherings and use of guns- unless I've missed it

I read about these killings in our local News and on the BBC site too, not read all reports of course.

Shocking affair.

Okay thanks. It did get a brief mention once but certainly hasn't been picked up on by ABers
Why don't BLM denounce the violence carried out by their supporters?

Excellent question, they should.
// violence carried out by their supporters? //

You know who did it? Have you informed the Police ?
The only answer to that ^ would get removed.

last week there were illegal raves in and around Manchester which the police didn't attend and in Moss Side people were phoning up to complain before there were lots of people there, but still the police didn't go out to it.If they had gone out when they received the first call, they could have disbanded them and the killings may not have happened. Perhaps the police are too scared to disband a predominately black crowd in case it all kicks off like the London protesters/rioters. I t got plenty of coverage here on our local news and it's looking like Moss Side is going to go back to how it used to be with all the shootings and killings and the police not able to do anything about it.
I'm not up to date with these news items. Who were the perps and victims of Moss side? Who ditto in Reading?
The attack in Reading is currently being treated as a terrorist attack although it has now been reported the 3 men were gay and it could be a homophobic attack.
ff why would BLM comment on the Moss Side killings?
//Who were the perps and victims of Moss side? Who ditto in Reading?//

Up to press it looks like the victims were blessed with white privilege in Reading and not in moss side. The perp in Reading certainly did not carry this stigma, and no one is claiming ownership of the deed in Moss side. The lack of a racist angle being attributed to the Moss Side "event", or a mental health speculation may give a few subtle clues to the mildly concerned.
When the persons attending an illegal rave outnumber the amount officers on duty at the time in GMP it would be some fool to make an operational decision to disperse that mob. It was a potential riot waiting to happen especially with relations between BAME and any Police not exactly amenable at the moment. No copper is going into that mob and request them to go home because they are being naughty fgs.If the police waded in with batons, tear gas and rubber bullets they would be accused of racism and heavy handed tactics.
For many years the BAME residents on Moss side have used fire officers and paramedics as target practice when they have set up bogus disturbances or stabbings and set cars on fire only to snipe at the emergency responders from the surrounding tower blocks.
retro, people in the area were phoning the police as soon as these people began to gather because of the disturbance. Just a personal observation, but perhaps if the police had attended straight away, it may not have got out of hand, and I say again, may not.
On a very rare occasion I agree with Mike Pence - he stands up for ALM - all lives matter.

>ff why would BLM comment on the Moss Side killings

The youngest victim was of Gambian descent. Black Lives Matter. I haven't seen any details of the older victim. I also thought they might also want to give advice about gatherings- advise them of the risks for the BAME community from Covid and their households in case the message from the briefings isn't reaching the community. (I know the other raves were predominantly non-BAME so maybe it's all 20-40s who need reminding or have just decided the risks are low
