Hi
Can anyone advise what fish to introduce to a 40 litre aquarium that is planted with artificial plants only. Most of the ones I was considering tend to like eating real plants.
Thanks

Most people use artificial plants and Tetras, Guppys and Danios are frequently advised as good starter fish - just because they nibbled your real plants they don't have to. We have kept those varieties for years with just commercial fish food as their diet. But yes your independent local supplier would be the best to ask.

For a start 40 ltrs isn’t a very big tank 20x10x12 inch roughly.
Which fish have you heard eat plants.
I’ve kept tetras. Without trouble. Tiger Barbs are fin biters.

Thanks malagabob. Guppies, Platys and Pearl Danio's all seem to eat vegetation. Looked at Neon Tetras but as this is my first tank and they are a little harder to keep (apparently) than the others I mentioned I am wary of them. By the way are you connected to Spain by any chance?
You are probably best off going to or talking to a tropical fish supplier. A good supplier will advise you.

We've got 1000 litre marine tank and Mr BM is quite particular where he gets his stuff.
